Jenna Ortega Chooses Latex for the Season 2 Premiere of Wednesday

The second season of the hit series Wednesday just had its official premiere in London. The show’s lead actress, Jenna Ortega, attended the premiere event in a snakeskin-inspired latex look.

In the fall of 2023, the series Wednesday premiered on Netflix and quickly became a major success, gaining widespread popularity. The show is a spin-off of The Addams Family and follows Wednesday Addams as she attempts to solve a series of murders near her new school. Given the overwhelming response to the first season, it’s no surprise that a second season has arrived.

The official premiere of the new season took place on July 30 at Central Hall Westminster in London. Jenna Ortega, 22, reprises her role as the iconic Wednesday Addams. She appeared on the purple “red” carpet — fitting for Wednesday — wearing a latex ensemble from Ashi Studio’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection. The entire outfit is made from latex with a snakeskin texture. It features a semi-transparent high-neck top paired with a mermaid-cut skirt, finished with frayed, asymmetrical ruffles. A dramatic lace-up detail runs the length of the back, giving the look an extra edge. Underneath, the actress wore a corset that shapes the waist and hips.

Working with latex and giving it an unconventional texture is often a challenge for designers. Ashi Studio commented on the design process via their Instagram account:

“This look began with research into the idea of a second skin, inspired by exotic hides and snake sheds, their scales, faded textures, and raw edges. We developed custom latex “snake skins” through rare artisanal casting techniques. After sketching the design, the pieces were assembled with a latex specialist, with unfinished edges evoking shed skins. Over 200 hours of work were required to complete this look.”
